This next section is down section from location 1 in the town square.

Outcrop 2

This outcrop is the basal part of a flow, however we are not able to determine whether or not it forms part of the flow seen at location 1.

This outcrop is very rubbly and vesicular. There are many amygdales present within this outcrop. There are also some nicely formed Olivine crystals.

As can be seen from the picture the basanite has been used as foundations for buildings etc.
