The fine carbonate sand here shows trackways of invertebrate organisms. A closer look at these tracks shows distinct marks made by the appendages of the animal as it walked across the loose sand. Such 'scratch marks' are typical of the tracks made by arthropods: these are probably the tracks of a small crab.
Scale: the small divisions on the upper edge of the scale are centimetres.
