This locality on the reef crest was visited by glass-bottomed boat.
This view from the upper deck of the boat shows the typical spur and groove configuration of the outer reef crest. The dark areas are the live reef of the spurs (some of the hard and soft corals may be seen in this view through the water). The light areas are carbonate sand and gravel filling the grooves. The spurs and grooves extend into the deeper water of the reef front, towards the right (south) of the photo.
