Virtual Field Trip to the Florida Keys
Upper Keys: Location 1 - Key Largo Dry Rocks
Key Largo Dry Rocks are a shallow water part of the barrier reef off Key Largo.
Underwater photograph, looking vertically downwards.
This image shows part of the reef:
- The live stony colonial coral of a patch reef is seen at bottom right, and
is mostly dark, the colour of the live coral polyps.
- The loose carbonate sediments surrounding the coral is light coloured; it
forms the top left of the image, and lies in slightly deeper water.
