This is an example of boudinage. Extreme extension of an amphibolite sheet has resulted in separation of the sheet into discrete blocks called boudins. The intervening space has been replaced by gneiss and recrystallised material. Scale: coin is 30 mm in diameter Grid reference: 929 221
