The Miami Limestone is a unit of Pleistocene age. It outcrops in the Miami area, and in the western Florida Keys (Lower Keys), where it forms the bedrock 'backbone' of the islands. Sediments of similar type are forming on the Bahamas Banks at the present time, but not in Florida.
